Will's gorgeous garden

Okay - so most of you know I am lucky to be married to a fabulous gardener. Will's garden is his joy, relaxation place, stress relief and peace & quiet after a long day at work. He loves it. Lucky me because I get to enjoy the result of all his hard work. Even when I'm not outside, I enjoy a lovely view out my kitchen windows every day. At the end of the year last year, I decided I needed to capture some of the beautiful blooms with my camera for summer 2010. I didn't get it all - but here are a few - enjoy!

These yellow ones start off spring with a burst of color that makes me smile. The green leaves and stems of this plant is the first green that we see in our yard -with the blooms following usually in May. I love this time of year! Apple blossoms!

Iris. Another sure sign its spring.

Dainty!

A gorgeous red one - bloomed right on Canada Day! Eh!
You gotta love peonies - especially these bright pink ones. Wow!
Our little apples starting to look like apples!

Delphiniums have been one of my favorites for a long time. The vibrant blue always catches my eye. These plants are still recovering from a terrible hail storm 2 years ago.

What's a garden without some roses!? These were all gifts from the girls and I to Will!

I love when the Tiger lilies and day lilies start. There's almost a new flower to admire every day!

These last three were still blooming in October! Although we didn't have much heat during the summer, we did have a really nice September and October. The yellow ones are from a plant that came from my Grandma Johnson's yard. It really flourished this year, and reminded me of the joy she always took in her garden. She would always tell me what flowers were in bloom each week - and she loved that there was something different blooming all the time. I think I have a little bit of her in me. Our garden is great! Thanks Will! :-)

Visit to Calgary July 2010

Somehow this picture got missed in the whole stack, and I can't figure out how to insert it in the middle. But - I couldn't miss it because it's such a great one of Eden - in Fish Creek Park in Calgary. What a gorgeous little girl - I know I'm biased. But hey, it's my blog. I can write what I want! :-)

There is nothing quite like being with family. The sense of being a part of something bigger than your everyday life... the peace of being with people who know who you are... the joy of visiting and laughing. These are things that are all part of family. During July, Cynthia and Melanie, my sisters come to Calgary with their kids. These are treasured times - with lots of great memories. One of the first... below... as we went to Taco Time for taco Tuesdays. Not only did we take 2/3 of the seats in the restaurant, we depleted their entire supply of beef. They had to make more! Made me kinda proud!

A walk in Fish Creek Park

A true classic. Throwing rocks in the water with Grandpa. (Grandpa is a classic too!)
Beautiful girl!

I can't believe how grown up these nieces are getting. Jenna and Dani - beautiful girls inside and out! They, and Abby and Sophie, were so good at helping the little ones.
Our annual sand castle with tunnels.
Pouring in the water.Too fun!
Evey decorating every inch of her body. Kinda makes you want to hug a two-year-old, doesn't it?

My beautiful sistas (minus Jenny, Lori and me!) I loved this part of our beach days.... the kids having a blast in the sand and water - and the ladies sitting and visiting. I miss doing that!At the Calgary Stampede ParadeTaking it all in

The tradition starters!

We were all a little tired after getting up so early! Especially Graham & his family who saved us a spotSkipping in Grandma and Grandpa's back yard. I've still got it - well maybe a little bit's left! The real fun moment was when Graham jumped rope. Cynthia and I were turning the rope and it made us laugh so hard!!! What a fun time!
How you can tell you're growing up - when you like to visit. Welcome to the visiting crowd, Josh!
The adventures they'll remember for the rest of their lives!Wonder what they're up to!

Just missing Spencer!

A day at the church for indoor games

Back to the beach. Eden & Kyleigh loved playing with each other. I love that they are so close to each other.

A pony ride at Spruce Meadows. Can you tell it was a dream come true for Kyleigh?

Cynthia, Claire & Abby are in the middle. Jenna, Eden and Ethan are in the back (far right). I was surprised at how much Eden loved this ride!
