Halloween 2010 and other fall fun

Our gratitude tree, based on a comment from President Monson.  We each wrote something we were grateful for on a 'hand' for the week leading up to thanksgiving.  The 'hands' tie into the idea of touching heaven, and they serve as leaves for our tree!

A play date... making turkeys with Rheanna and Abby.

A trip to the jungle farm in the fall - to go through the corn maze and do the other activities there.
Hopping on the balls was a lot of fun!

Our halloween outfits!  After the girls decided they were going to be cats, I couldn't resist being a witch!
My first time doing face painting. Its not really my thing, but the girls love it, so I thought I would try!  I think the results were pretty good!
Carving pumpkins with Raylene & Levi

Will's creative work in our yard!

Kyleigh's puppy dress that she created.  I love the full puffy sleeves, and the puppy prints.  And don't miss the cute earings!
Together with family for Channing's baby blessing.

Just missing Spencer!

Fall leaves

I love that children take joy in the little things.  Like leaves in the fall.  They love to throw them, roll in them, and run in them.  Here's a few pictures that I think capture the joy of childhood, and for my girls - the joy of having a sister who is also your friend!

Will's birthday - September 2010

Lighting the candles.  Only a few. Tee hee.

Our birthday boy!

Everyone came!

I surprised Will this year with an overnight trip to Canmore.  We started with this restaurant - The Trough.

We stayed at the Bear and Bison Inn - a Bed & Breakfast.  This was the balcony overlooking the mountains and the fall colours.

Our B&B
More good food!  The Flatbread Company - really yummy pizza!

Browsing the shops.  Will loves Browsing.

The view was spectacular.  We loved spending quiet time together.

Random collection of fall events

First day of school - Eden grade 2, Kyleigh kindergarten

Lost a tooth!

Stubborn Mama spider.  Laid her egg sack in our bbq cover when it was on the ground.  When Will put it back on the bbq, this Mama spider defended her sack with real determination. We admired her (although I was sure to stay back - especially when Will was in the vicinity - the spider did not like Will - who teased her on purpose!)

Holding baby Channing Irelyn - Chelsea and Andrew's new little girl who arrived on September 19th

Eden's class started the year with a Clifford the Big Red Dog unit.  I made these cupcakes for a celebration at the end.

If you look closely, you can see the outline of Goliath - which we hung up to have an action lesson for the girls.

Sling shot-ting!

Lots of giggles!

Sweet victory!  Yeah!
